Software Campaign Update

Featured Replies

So , my car went in for a campaign update today. I was thinking yes , i'll get the 1806 software, an upgrade from my current 1803 version.

Car came back 4 hours later with 1803 as the version installed like before. So i have asked the dealer to contact and tell me what the campaign was for , what fixes etc.

Interestingly i was reading the Golf forums and they had a lot of talk on 1803-to 06 and even talk of 1810. The thread spoke about users with B and C units can go to 1806 while D and beyond units go to 1803. I wonder if thats true?

As an update , the Sat nav forgetting probs still exist as does the speaker popping and SOS flashing red. So no idea what was done as nothing seems improved.

Update 2 , dealer told me the campaign was for s/w update on air bag system.

I've booked mine for a SW update on the 27th of Oct - will provide an update after that. My major issue is the SOS pop, the rest is not that annoying, but the SOS error is frustrating!

Mine is booked in for Thursday for the SOS and freezing 'fix', fingers crossed! I will report back if anything changes.

Let us know how it goes, @matrix2020

Well picked the car up today after its been in all day for 'software update'. They have changed something!! Below is the System Information before it wet in, and after it had done some over the air updates and it thought was 'up to date' with no waiting updates.

This is what it is now reading after picking it up, note the part number has changed and most of the software.....

Fingers crossed thats fixed the SOS and popping. In fainess to the garage they were excellent, said they knew exactly what it was and dont worry we will fix it.......

I had mine in for s/w updates last week and the dealer said it was updating various issues for around 6 hours.

My issues were very intermittent so we'll see if it has resolved them, the screen seems to be more responsive tbf. They didn't change any h/w.

One thing I noticed, that I thought it would get resolved, is the temperature SYNC still gets reset each time I start the car.

Q. Anybody who's had the s/w updates - does your SYNC now work? Not an issue at all but if that hasn't been resolve I'm wondering if the issues I've had may still be there.

Cheers

My wife likes more heat than I do and our unsync temperatures have always remained as set before and after the control unit (MIB) was replaced. If you would like me to test it I could set sync and see what happens.

I had the control unit replaced and the software updated - now at 1803.

My problems were fixed but the Sync issue remains.

I thought that is just the way they designed it, even though our older VAG car manages to preserve the Sync setting.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll change the temps either side and see what happens.
