Problem using smartlink / Android Auto at a used 2020 Scala - anyone can help?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

We have 3 used - 2020 Scala at my company. we have android phones but we can't use the Android Auto feature. we have this message on the screen (as in photo attached):

Smartlink - this function has not been enabled. please contact your dealer.

Since the cars aren't new - i have no dealer to contact actually.

Is there a way to use the Multimedia with Android Auto?

Thank's for your help...

Try the scala section for a start.

You don't need the original dealer to get this sorted. £130-160 per car at any Skoda dealer should unlock it. Really is that simple. They might even do you a group discount.

Thank you, i think one of the guys tried...Isn't there a way to put some code or hack it somehow? or buy some adapter?

No adapter will help. It's a coding thing.

It might be able to be hacked but it would likely cost as much as Skoda doing it while losing any warranty. Paying the dealer is the most efficient way.

Hi Again! so we went to a Skoda dealer, and it's not that simple. for some reason, because it's a fleet car, it's blocked, and the code is extreemly expensive... is there a way to buy a code that doesn't cost fortun?

What price did they ask for it?

more than 400 euro for each car. since than, they say that they are not sure it's even possible.

i started looking for alternatives. i tried to find a new multimedia that will fit this car, but i can't find nothing for the Scala.

do you have an idea where i can find?

No i have no idea. And afaik the Scala does not have SFD protection so maybe it is a dealer only thing. Maybe someone with software knowlegde will shed some light. You could go on another forum like for example obdeleven forum where they unlock options with that dongle. Could be a cheaper alternative if it is possible with it. Good luck.
