Errors with latest ECE 2022 maps

Featured Replies

I'm getting errors when trying to unzip the latest maps (ECE 2022) after downloading them from the Skoda update portal.  This is on a Columbus satnav in a 2018 Karoq Edition.

Using WinRAR is fails saying there are corrupt headers.  Using WinZIP it successfully unzips the files but warns that there are corrupt headers,  When updating my satnav after copying the files to an SD card it gets to about 81% and then says there was an error and reboots the unit.

I've tried the download several times and on different machines so I don't think it's my end.

I've done all of this several times before and never had a problem.

Has anyone else managed to install this update successfully or is the download itself corrupt?

See the pinned threads in my signature as others have a solution. 👍

Great, I'll take a look.  Thanks.

No problem with the Amundsen download for 2018 Karoq.  Downloaded maps and logos from Skoda site to PC.  Backed up old maps and radio logos from SD to PC before copying download from PC to SD card.

Hi there, i have the same problem, where is the thread with the solution ? Thanks !

Here - for Columbus.

For future reference all the latest map links will be posted in the level above the one linked to earlier. Maybe time to put that section on your notification list?

Considering that MartiniB uploaded the links on 22nd October - and I downloaded them a few days after, yesterday was when I managed to find time to begin the install.

Total Commander extracted the files from the 'problematic' archive and they transferred to the car as easily as previous versions.

Still a problem! I had the unzip problem, so used Windows Explorer to unzip it, which worked fine, put the files on the SD card fine, but then when I install them in the car it runs right through to 100% then says "Error: software update. Please restart the software update." I restarted it, it ran through to 100% and failed again with the same message.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks.

Have seen a note on a Seat forum, that the new maps are bigger and you might need to delete some countries before uploading on older cars as memory allocation gets exceeded.

Don’t know if this is your problem, but if it always stops at 81% then might be the point where your allocated memory for mapping cannot take more.

When I restarted the car today it showed the 2022 version number - it seems it had actually uploaded the 2022 maps yesterday, even though it said it had failed and showed the old version number yesterday.  Seems I just had to switch the car off, leave it for a while then restart it, like a computer. Ah well, at least it worked in the end.
