Hi guys,

just bought a cracking little 2013 sport which has the optional 16” alloys on which look mint.

sadly there is no spare wheel and I would like to add one for peace of mind. I’m assuming a full size 16” alloy and tyres will not fit in the boot space.

my query is will a 14” space saver and tyre be the same rolling radius?

if not what size space saver do I need.

Any* sensible wheel that will bolt onto your hubs will fit in the wheel well  - the wheel diamater is not the issue, it's the diameter of the of the wheel+tyre assembly that counts.

 

*You will need to stick with a wheel/tyre that has about the same circumference as the existing wheels. If you don't, then ABS and stability controls won't work correctly!

 

You can get a 14" wheel (and then tyre) as you say, with the same rolling radius, but you could get a 15" or 16" alloy or steel wheel that would mean no 50mph or distance limits...

175/65R14 tyre size on 5Jx14 ET35 4/100 57.1 steel rim would match up well to a 195/45R16 as they both have about the same outside diameter and 175/65R14 is a standard size on the Citigo.

 

Outside diameter of 195/45R16 is 581.9mm

Outside diameter of 175/65R14 is 583.1mm

 

165/70R14 tyre size on 5Jx14 ET35 4/100 57.1 steel rim would match up well to a 185/50R16 as they both have about the same outside diameter and 165/70R14 is a standard size on the Citigo.

 

Outside diameter of 185/50R16 is 591.4mm

Outside diameter of 165/70R16 is 586.6mm

 

One of the following two OEM part numbers could be used to order a suitable steel rim from a Skoda dealer:
