Official Skoda Updates

Featured Replies

I wonder if the people who have has Fabias for a number of years would like to list the official mods which have been carried out to their vehicles, in order to "update" those of us which may be unaware. The benfit of your experience would help us all!

Just because some of us have 06 cars, doesn't mean that ALL the issuse which affected the earlier cars have been sorted, (leaks etc.) and it would give us an idea of where to look come service time!

Thank you all!

Had a computer replaced under warranty when half dash board lights vanished when the car was about 18 months old. Had intermittent alarms at night after that. Had engine rebuild under warranty when cam belt pulley distintegrated. Luckily in town at less than 30mph at time. That was three weeks out of warranty but Skoda fixed it anyway.

Last year had some computer part replaced when alarm could not be switched off even when driving the car!!! That was last November. Getting alarms alarms again at night if there is a sudden temperature drop. That cost me

Car was bought at a shade under 3 years with 53k miles on and, from memory, during the 28k miles (15 months) of ownership...

Driver's heated seat failed (fixed under warranty)

Heated mirrors didn't work (only noticed after warranty ran out)

Track rod arm worn (fair wear and tear at 60k miles?)

Air con packed up (evap temp sensor)

Clutch pedal snapped

Driver's seat insecure  (marked Dangerous at MOT time!)

Engine undertray fell off

Battery failed (well it had lasted 4 years! )

Various rattles also developed, but the radio drowned them out! :D

The alarm also misbehaved some nights, but only a couple of times

Later found out from the chap who bought it that the front fog lights didn't work and also that one of the brake caliper seals had perished.
