Rear Passenger Cupholder

Featured Replies

Will do gladly. Trim due in on Saturday, so will post pics as soon as I get all the bits.

Ok, has promised heres the part number for the trim:

1ZO 857 289 47H

And heres the "how I did it bit"! PLEASE NOTE if you do choose to do this you do so at your own risk! This worked fine for me, but trim is brittle and can break so be warned!!!

Firstly remove the storage box by opening it fully, as shown in picture 1, then ease away the left side from the hinge pin and you should then be able to remove the storage box pcture 2. Now gently pull out the air vents (I managed this, pullying from the bottom and never needed a screwdriver to prise it out) 3. Once you have done this it should now look like picture 4. Now locate the top 2 torx screws and remove them, picture 5. Now locate the lower 2 srews on the inside of the trim and remove them picture 6. With gentle but steady pressure the trim surround can now be removed, making sure you disconect the air vent pipe which is clipped to the back of the frame (I didn't, and it took a good few minutes of faffing to cet it connected again!!) picture 7. The difference is clear once you put the two side by side, picture 8. Now refit the trim and clip the air vent pipe to the back of it. Push it firmly into place and refit the 4 torx screws. Refit the air vent and finally gently push in the new cup holder/ashtray. You will probably have a little bit of fiddling to get the locating clips to line up,and will need the holder and ashtray open so you can push the frame firmly into place. If you got it right it should now look like this, pictures 9a - 9d

Pictures 1 -5 are attached, the rest of the pictures will be in the next couple of posts!!

There is the facility to illuminate the ashtray, but this looks like an extra piece of loom, so I haven't done this yet, and there is also a small piece of rubber trim which goes in the botton of the cup holder, but I haven't got this yet!

Hope this helps!!

I have managed to get the drinks holder, but instead of the ashtray above it, it has a blanking plate. Is there a part number on the ashtray itself as one of the parts guys in my local skoda (who isnt the most helpful) says that i cant get it separate? Now he is probably right, but i can see that behind the plate is the right housing for the ashtray and if i can get it them will be landed. Otherwise i will fit it as it is and just wait and see if one turns up at a breakers or the ebay.

It's not one of the parts on this diagram is it? (this came in v.handy when I was retrofitting my jumbo box)

Thats a cracking diagram cheers.

Its shows as number 8 on the list and says ashtray with housing and doesnt mention the drinks holder which is weird. Sure that's the part skoda quoted £55 for but i have everything except the ashtray insert (the curved backing and holes for the ashtray mech are there but just a blanking plate on the front.

Looks like its gonna be difficult one to find but will just have to see how it goes.
