This is my first time on this thing, so I hope it ends up in the right place.:confused:

Have just rejoined the VAG world after a break with a Volvo T5. Have made it back with a 52 Octy VRS on :eek: 98k!!!! Nice ex company car and cheap because of the miles.

Is there anything that I need to look at replacing soon or watch out for?

I want to put a little more zing in the car, with a small budget.

Induction kit - K&N, Green or powertec? Don't want it too loud(ish) Can't really raise money for a Carbonio.

Dump valve - forge or ? , want to hear it but not Fast and Furious style.

EBC pads, have served well before, discs though - Black diamond, EBC have seen some cheap APE or similar sounding?

I have storm developments near me and looking at a custom code remap, any good or bad comments?

Also, where can I get proper mats from, or are they more likely from the rear of a rocking horse?

Mats should be from your dealer - I posted the number recently so should turn up in a search.

Going over your list:

- Just drop a green cotton panel filter into the existing airbox. Much cheaper than an induction kit.

Dump valve - forge or ? , want to hear it but not Fast and Furious style.

- Drive a TDI so can't comment I am affraid.

EBC pads, have served well before, discs though - Black diamond, EBC have seen some cheap APE or similar sounding?

- I think wisdom on here was black diamond 12 grove disks with Ferodo DS2500 or similar pads.

Additionally a more free flowing exhaust and better cooling for the intercooler are often talked about amoung VRs Drivers.

Plus the obvious comment of at 98k I would make sure that the cam belt has been changed and if not do it. Additioanlly new air filter if you don't change it and an oil change/service can't go to waste.

For handleing an Golf R32 ARB and a rear ARB from nuspeed or somebody similar will apparantly help handling a lot too.
