My 1.5 TSI has an annoyingly loud engine “buzz” in the cabin at idle. It sounds like a loud heater fan but the tone changes up and down. It isn’t always present and the start/stop masks it. You can’t hear the noise outside the vehicle or with the bonnet open and strangely enough it feels like it’s coming from the rear of the vehicle but I can’t be precise. Anyone have the same issue?

My first thought in this sort of position would be that maybe the exhaust is making contact with the bodywork.

I’ll check this out thanks, I’ve got my own mechanic looking at it later this week. Skoda can’t even send a technician out to the car park to listen to the noise for two weeks. 

Mystery solved. Took it into a different dealership and the fuel pump has been diagnosed. Changed under warranty next week. 

I've got this noise too.  Initially suspected fuel flap locking motor, which is ineffective but i thought it might be trying -- very trying.

Then I suspected fuel pump, so your diagnosis is helpful.

Will get it checked out ...
