Electric window problem

Featured Replies

2000 Octavia SLX TDI

My rear N/S window made some clunking mechanical noise and refused to go up when powered from drivers control cluster. I managed to pull it up manually and again tried to operate it but the motor appears as if its stuck.

Any info on repairs or what I'm likely to encounter would be great.

Sounds like the glass has come out of the runners.

Time to take the door trim off and see if you can pop it back into place

I put up a post a while back with pics for window removal, may come in handy.

If its packed in after making lots of noise and you can move it manually it sounds like the regulator has broken.

Hi Lummox....It was a hot day and before switching A/C on I opened the ofending window half way and the drivers to get some air flow, it was only when I tried to shut the window the problem occured. Iv'e only had the car 4 weeks....(private sale) checked all out OK. Just my luck.

I'm new to Skodas after being a Golf driver for many years. I don't have any regrets this is my first TDI and I love it. I'm just pleased I found the Briskoda site.
