Rear interior lights slowly getting brighter then dimmer

Featured Replies

I’ve noticed a few times the my back seat lights are turning themselves on and off slowly? Anyone else have this issue?

My mk4 is only theoretical until sometime next year, but I've seen the symptoms that you mention reported on several online reviews. Apparently it's either a buggy software, or a faulty light module - but it's serviceable via the warranty.

I’ve noticed the rear interior lights coming on at times; somewhat inconsistent though.

Thanks for the reply. I brought my car from a dealership about 200miles away can I use my local dealership for warranty or dose it have to be where I brought it from?

@sneal yep, the reports I saw also mentioned random occurrence of the back-seat ghost playing with the interior lights... 👻

@PITBULL4X4 As far as I know, the standard 4-years warranty from the Constructor is international - so you can use any Skoda representative in Europe (at least). Only the extra-warranty sometimes offered by the Seller is limited to that particular dealership.

Yes, it's a manufacturer warranty so any dealer should be able to get the job done.

@SkOmk4 Thanks. I like the idea of a back-seat ghost, adds a touch of intrigue to the car. Snag is I find the lights distracting when on unlit country roads so will call the dealer.

Thanks for posting this, I thought I was going mad as the rear lights would randomly be on at the end of a journey.  Another thing to add to my list to call the garage about!
