the truth about electric cars

Featured Replies

Refined oil is really all that matters to customers of liquid fuels. Crude can be transported as and when. If sanctions on Russian Diesel and the USA having to really hold on to what they have for the home market then there is enough being refined or there is not. Or there are those that get oil and can refine but are choosing not to and controlling the market. What ever Donald Trump tries to do will hit some some places. Maybe make some of his even wealthier.

What about volume of oil getting through Bab-al Mandab Strait?

Depends who you are.

If Saudi linked watch out.

Talking to one of my colleagues they are completing massive extra paperwork for insurance going thru Red Sea and that sets the extra insurance premium plus Suez transition fees are up hugely too as Egypt was not getting its massivc canal revenue.

I gather more Saudi oil is getting thru Hormuz and the pipeline has been repaired so flows ar me good at tge moment but it will take weeks or months for that oil to bring the prices down to prewar levels so well in to next year probably.

Still be less expensive to retain your old ICE car unless it requires thousands of pounds beibg spent on it. It costs around a thousand to have a home charger installed.

Oft a way to reduce or negate the cost.

I have two wallboxes but did not fully pay for either.

First one had government grant for most of the cost, that was under the Con party.

Second one was a freebie when the Scenic one European Car of The Year.

Both will add value to the house when I sell the house next year as increasingly it is something new owners expect to see as a fitment to houses.

Truth , Girvan harbour DC charger still out of order 2 months on. Charge place Scotland today, female call handler said, wasted my time calling to report again as the council knows and no more CPS can do. That is because the system is sh!te.

There are 5 high speed dual charging station at a small retail park around the corner to us, they worked for approx. 2 days after opening before being covered over as "unavailable", 5 weeks on the covers slashed and leads had been cut off, been like that now for 6 months. It's no wonder me getting an EV is receding in my mind.

I believe the infrastructure supplying the retail units was underrated for the chargers in the first place, excellent planning

Some charge locations need a battery box as a buffer.

But sad that ths sites who nearly always getting it right ars TESLA. Over 99% uptime which they allshould have but only TESLA seem to manage it.

The Gridserve Electric Forecourts are also great, and have battery banks to ensure published flow rates but as to others still hit and miss

Ever bigger car batteries mean less public charging and now home charging, with the VAT off, is great.

Gridserve are great when great. But seeing as some report not getting the speeds then surely only some are great. Everything when working as they should be are great and when not crap. IME. I have experiences that are great and also ones that are crap. Stirling castle view park and ride. 1 50 kW out of service, 2 giving 50 kW, and the one I was on giving 26 kW. But only wanted the £2 min amount so 10 minutes and £2.08 worth.

But it is how it works for you, sadly there many others who do not share your particular circumstances or your luck. Many live in rented accommodation so the cost is is a total burden to them. As to increasing the value of your home, that is debatable, it's only an asset if the buyer has a need of a charger, or it is not out of date at time of selling the house.

Andy Burngam mp / Pm and ministers announcing so much, hinting at so much. But this country is England mostly, they just forget to say England only as do bbc anxxsky. If all of UK then they need to say that. Heating oil support in Scotland expanded. But You and yours on Radio 4 yesterday seemed unaware. As with so many things. English Broadcasting corporporation. Stay Warm Discount Core group England and Wales different from Core group Scotland or Broader Group. Solar or Charger grants different by 4 nations of the UK.

So more articles on fuel and China banning exports and then Car Dealer magazine on the rush to buy ev,s but dealers not wanting trade in ice,s. Maybe so. Lots and lots of Chinese manufactured and owned EV,s in the UK ready and at sea on there way here. Win win, every cloud a silver lining for China thanks to the POTUS.
