Glovebox carpet

Featured Replies

I think I read some time back that the new Kodiaqs  had this removed (utterly ridiculous imo but there you go).  I "think" it was rumoured to be taken from the main glovebox and the small one on the drivers side.

Can someone with a facelift confirm?

If it's gone, it looks like it will be DIY  time..........

Can't confirm as I have an older kodiaq but for reference speaker cloth is great for making liners (used it in our Fabia, Octavia and now the kodiaq

I never bothered making some cloth in the glovebox as it is always closed and nothing goes in there that is fragile. So i understand why they remove it to lower costs. But i guess for some important :) As you said i read indeed they removed it in the new models.

The linerscalso stop things rattling (and i hate rattles) so ive lined the glove boxes, the sunglasses holder and cubbies ☺️

Oh lol i did not know they made some cloth in it too but 100% right for rattles!! :D

No lining / carpet in the driver's cubby or in the lower glovebox on my new bear. The top glovebox does still have the rubber base though.

I prefer to think of it as reducing weight in my sporty* car 😂. But then as I don't really keep anything much in the gloveboxes anyway, it doesn't bother me.

That's just cheap though.  How much have they shaved off the cost of building the car?  £1 on a £40K+ motor?  Do Tiguans currently come with Axminster in the glove box I wonder.

Just installed it today.  👍

Great tip, speaker cloth is brilliant.  Tacky enough to stick, yet allow a few re-adjustments.
