Android Auto not connecting

Featured Replies

Hello, I recently purchased a Fabia Ambition 2016 and I tried connecting Android Auto and it didn't work.

I tried connecting via USB Port, I chose Android Auto through my phone and then I tried letting my car take control of the phone but it didn't work.

On the car's screen I could see "Loading..." but nothing happened after it finished loading. Sometimes I would see something like "media could not be read".

What kind of information do I need to provide in order to understand better the problem? Or perhaps the car's multimedia doesn't support this app?

My phone is Galaxy S20, with Android Auto built in. It is up to date.

Which infotainment system do you have in the Fabia?

Have you paired the phone to the car?

On the infotainment system I have, you do the following:-

Open Android Auto on your phone.

Have Bluetooth on.

Have Location on, if you are going to navigate.

Connect the phone to the car with a good quality cable.

Have the ignition on and the infotainment system on.

Push the bottom Right button marked ' MENU '

Twist the right dial until you get to the smartlink app gui button.

Select this then select Android Auto.

See examples  here:-

Hi, thank you for replying!!

I'm not sure how to tell which kind of infotainment system I have, so I took a few pictures. (Hope that helps)

Yes, I have paired the phone to the car. (I can listen to youtube and receive calls)

I did the following:

Opened Android Auto

Phone paired with the car (Bluetooth)

Location active

connected the USB Cable to the car (I tried this with 3 different cables, each of them of a different brand)

And the most I get is "Loading....." or "Unable to read USB data medium". (Also attaching pictures)

I had the ignition on the whole time.

I've seen these two youtube videos a day ago and the thing is, as you can see in the picture i'm attaching, I don't have the "Menu" button in my car.

My infotainment is probably an older version. So I tried searching through the whole infotainment buttons if theres anything similar and I couldn't find it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

It looks like a "Swing", and if it's like the one in my Rapid it doesn't do android auto.

I'm slightly surprised you don't have  "Bolero" infotainment unit - versions of that from about 2016 support android auto.

It appears in the set-up options - the (GB) user guides are here:

So are there no options?

Android Auto? Smart link? Mirror? Nothing at all?

Not unless you replace the infotainment unit. ☹️

Thanks, AG Falco
