ABS long code needed

Featured Replies

Well, I'm learning about SKODAs that's for sure.

My battery went flat and through a number of faults. The battery centre cleared most but got nervous about the ABS long code as it is reading 0000000 all the way.

If I have the long code they are happy to use their tool to type it in. Which brings me to my questions.

Is there anywhere I can get ABS long codes from? are they like radio codes that you can buy on eBay?

Any help greatly appreciated. :)

Nope, this is the individual code that includes not only coding that matches your car options but also some numbers form your VIN, not straight but encoded in some way. Generally speaking it should NOT happen as coding is cleared only in case ABS module or instruments cluster is replaced.

Do you have any backup from tools like VCDS, Vag Can Pro, OBD Eleven?

Hi pab567,

I'm quite new to SKODA so I do not have any tools or backups.

My local dealer is not very good and they are talking about replacing the brake module. I'm not so sure as they are the same mob that wanted my car for a morning so they could investigate how to retrieve my radio code. 😞

If it's a Skoda dealer, then they should be able to use ODIS to recode the module automagically using the VAG online servers to generate the code.

Replacing the module won't help unless it's actually faulty... It would still need coding as above too :)

It might be possible to create a code for it but we would need a full unedited autoscan to get an idea of how the car is configured etc.
