i think the motion aspect of the Wii could be good fun... but at the same time i dont really wanna look like a **** whilst trying to do the swordfights lol

I agree. I have an xbox 360 and the one thing I am excited about is that nintendo console. The ps3 is offering nothing I cant already get anywhere else for cheaper. they have basically copied everyone elses ideas and tried to pass them off as their own.

Plus £430 for a bread bin lookalike is just rediculous.

All about the Wii but then again i am a Nintendo fan boy. The new Zelda looks so amazing.

As for the PS3 yea think that its going to bom quicker than the Dreamcase

i think you will be suprised by the ps3 following. most of the people who bought the original ps now have jobs and can afford the ps3 easily. It's more like a game console for grown up's and add the fact it will have the next gen blue ray device which will bring all our HD sets to life.

ps3 is for the hardcore entertainment guru's not just gamers.It's add more to the the living room than any of the other consoles and so you pay more for this.

a blue ray drive alone costs more than £600 so it would be a real bargain at £500

all movies are filmed in HD anyway and have been for the last 3-4 years, sony is the driving force behind DVD's and will publish films on BlueRay just like it create's them for the UMD discs for PSP. ( i couldn't believe the vast catologue of UMD discs that could be bought for the psp, it's like a whole section is asda!!!) It's just a matter of time and like I said the PS3 is for adult gamers not adults that act like kids;)

the ps3 will have the latest technology and for this you have to pay. Believe me people will, just like any other technology that has appeared recently. No one thought DVD would catch on and the television set!......Blue ray and HD tv's is just the next step for us all to take.

Has a formal standard for HD been established? Last I heard there were several competing standards and the last thing I want is to be backing Betamax when I should be backing VHS!

2 standards. HD DVD and Blue ray DVD.

Blue ray has the biggest backing but HD DVD has still got good backing.

I think it may be a dilemma but I'd say Blue ray has far more potential. Dont wnat to go into it but maybe a read up yourself would hive you your own conclusion. No doubt Sony will be pushing blue ray like hell as they own alot of the movie studios which will produce their films in blue ray. in the world today I think thier is room for 2 standards unlike 15 years ago. (not sure on years as i'm not old enough to remmeber)

As for the whole HD thing its still too messy for me to pick one with people switiching camps back and forth. Now if someone can make a dual format drive like they did with the whole DVD +- thing then everyone is a winner

Blue Ray has higher storage as its main advanatge, however will require complete new assembly lines.

HD DVD on the otherhand has less storage, however, existing production lines can be modified cheaply, hence meaning the media will be cheaper to buy and i expect availble sooner. Don't know which will win but if I had to place a bet it would be on HD DVD purely because the media will be cheaper for home use.

Not much mate, just found it amusing that you needed a Microsoft product (IE) to view information about a Nintendo console, which is a competitor to Microsoft's X-Box 360 console.
