Anyone got a guide to remove centre console trim

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.  I bought a cable to be fitted underneath the auto start/stop to disable it forever.  I have prised the bottom of the trim a little but don't want to force & break anything if there is a better way to go about it. Anyone any ideas?

Pull on the gear selector gaitor in the corner till it pops out. After this, reach inside and underneath the switch pack and push it upwards, it will come out and no need to remove any more trim

Thanks very much

i put the start-stop memory module a while ago now.

using trim tools, i simply removed the switch module by prying from the top part upwards (see arrow n picture below), and the pry from the back to lift the switch module up.

the start-stop memory module is brilliant!!

He explained very clearly his reason in the first post.

I would have done it by disconnecting the shunt resistor cable from the battery lead.

Don’t know why you would want to do this.

I did this to save wear and tear on the battery / starter motor.

Shortly after I took ownership the original battery died on a car with under 30k miles.  I could only imagine this was due to lots of short journeys & auto start stop  in traffic.

It also irks me when I want to get onto a roundabout quickly in traffic & the engine isn't ready when I need it.

£14 for a cable to save buying another battery at £200 seems a bargain
