The car wont rev past 3100rpm...between 2500 and 3100rpm it makes a lot of noise. Poor power and fuel consumption. No fault codes.. Tried changing the fuel filter and air filter...Tried disconnecting the MAF and also cleaned the EGR. Changed the engine oil. But nothing happened. please help

please help

Can you let us know what engine code you have - i.e ALH, AGR etc?.

AGR

are you parked and trying to rev past 3100, or is it stopping at that while driving?

iirc some diesels have a "stationary" rev limiter so you cant over rev them.

it sounds likely to be turbo related though, either a massive boost leak or internal damage

While driving

okay, id definitely be checking every single vacuum and air hose etc for splits/ bad joints and the like really really closely.

i think its losing boost pressure somewhere and is over fuelling trying to make up for it.
