Question about the radio

Featured Replies

My 2016 Octavia SE has pretty poor graphics on the radio. The radio station logo sometimes appears but mostly doesn’t. Is this something I can get updated at the dealer? It’s clearly not very important but it is bugging me. Does anyone know how this is done? Many thanks as always

We'll need to know what unit you have. Best thing is to take a picture of the screen showing the software version.

Thanks. Managed to take some photos today and maybe this will be useful?

Please don’t assume I know anything here! Much better to spell

it out to me. Many thanks

Hopefully someone will be able to answer your question now.

If you mean some stations have logos and some don't then you need to download the logos, put them on an SD Card and manually select the correct logo for the station on the infotainment station.

If I recall correctly if you move stations around then the logo doesn't stay with the station, you have to manually set it again. It doesn't detect the correct logo from the radio station.

I have a folder on my SD Card called Logos with all the ones I downloaded.

Have a read here:

Thanks for all the input. All

of this came up because it wasn’t possible to add an ApplePlay connection to this unit. Consequently I’ve been trying to make the most of the existing set up.
although the car was bought as an approved used it did not come with any ŠKODA SD cards and I wondered whether the version indicated

on these pics is the most

up to date? And also how to update the software? Will I need to get a ŠKODA sd card to do so?
sorry, many questions!

You only need a genuine Skoda card for the satnav if you have it. Any card will do for playing music and updates. How many sd card slots does the unit in the glovebox have?

There is no satnav on this unit! This has me wondering what exactly gets updated in terms of the radio / phone?

there is one slot for a

memory card by the look of it. I’ve added a photo

Post the pic showing the firmware version in the Amundsen MIB1 Firmware thread and ask if there's an update. Someone should send a link, Download the latest version and put it on a USB or SD Card.

There are videos on Youtube showing the update in progress and there is discussion in all the firmware update threads on how people did it or any issues they had and the correct format for the update files.

Station logos can be downloaded, not sure if this link still works? Worth a try. Pop it on an SD card.

From a few threads on the forum, station logos might only appear when you "preset" the station.

Send any requests for updates here.

It's possible you have a Bolero unit going by the device part number. See this thread.
