alloy gators

Featured Replies

i read on some cars these do not fit can anyone tell me if you can fit them onto a vrs 20 inch wheel,?also has anyone had them fitted or self fitted?and they any good.

Yes, you can get them for a 20 inch wheel.

Not used them myself. But if you want them get them fitted professionally. Also be aware that should they come loose the damage to the paintwork of your car can be significant as it whips around at high speed until you stop and remove it.

I wouldn’t touch them - stories of them destroying wheels/tyres/bodywork even when installed properly and company denying responsibility for any damage.
Just be careful driving and parking!!

It’s fair to say this question has been asked by the OP and answered before.

i only asked again because there is a new type of allpy gator came out not so long ago,i know the old type did not have a very good name.

Come guys give Joss the benefit of the doubt. I've had a look and the manufacturer has replaced the old version with a "new and improved" version.

All I would say is if you want to try them, do so at your own risk. If you install them, let the forum know how it went and their effectiveness.

However if they do come off and do significant damage to the car's bodywork, then you can only expect scant sympathy from the forum with the response of "We told you so"

Ultimately the choice is yours.

i will have a think about it now.with the comments on here i have my doubts about them now.am awaiting my car 9th delivery date 04/03/2022.merry xmas and a happy new year to you all

Well whatever you choose to do have a happy Xmas and happy new year. 😊

I'd say you better spend more and get tyres with a decent rim protector, something like Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 5, those have meaty protection. And then you don't need to play around with plastic.

i have not even got the car yet, dont want to spend a lot of money on a new set yet.

Trusted contacts who do my odd body repair always advise against alloygaters, original or new version.... I won’t be bothering despite the risk those beautiful 19s
