Canton speaker problem after removing door trim

Featured Replies

Hi all, hope you have had great holidays.

(English is not my first language).

The car: Skoda superb MK3 2016. I have Canton sound system.

The problem: I have no sound in both, front lower speakers. All other speakers work.

I was working on another problem with my car, on the door trims, a rivet came loose inside the door and made noise on both sides.

Last month I removed the door trim on the drives side and disconnected the middle speaker and other components, put back together and everything worked as normal.

Yesterday, I stared working on the front passenger side on the same problem. I remove the trim, disconnect the middle speaker, fixed the problem and put everything back together.

But now, I have lost sound in both lower speakers on passenger and driver side, but every other speaker, even the speaker that I unplugged, works.

What I have tried:

-Removed battery power for 5mins.

-Opened the trim and disconnected the middle speaker and put it back in (Its the only plug on the sound system I disconnected when working on the trim).

Could you recommend what I can do? I will go over the wiring if I have damage some wires but I think its highly unlikely.

I don't have VCDS, only OBD2 reader or VCDS Lite with ebay cabler.

Thank you

Cheers

Arnor

Update:

I have discovered that the lower speakers are moving and playing sound, just very very low. And I think its like that in all doors.

I tried to factory reset the sound sending with no luck.

Could this be the amplifier? Can he be changed without coding?

Have anybody knowledge about the amplifier? Where its located, is it changeable without programing?

The Canton amplifier is under the passenger seat.

Looks like this....

The plan is to find the item number and order a new one.

Just have to find out if its easy swap or coding.

it needs coding and also has component protection so cant just be fitted by anyone. Needs a legit copy of ODIS with security access.
