Correct Key Transponder Chip

Featured Replies

I only got one key with my 2012 Superb. I've bought a couple of 2nd hand flip key fobs and had new blades cut. I've programed the fobs to the car with VCDS so I have keyless entry.

I've removed the original transponder chips from the PCB's but not sure which glass transponder chips I need to replace the originals with? To clone my existing key, ID48 TP24 ? Though I'm not sure if this the correct chip? Depending on where I look they are described as being for cars pre dating mine.

You can also just tape the existing transponder and board to the inside of the steering column at the pick up ring

Obs your insurance wouldn't be happy

Done it to a few taxis that needed more keys cut for drivers

Whats the part number thats on your original key?

I user Aliexpress for new remote keys and even get them to cut new blanks

Yes I've done that in the past but not my preferd solution for the reason you've given. For the sakes of of around £6 for a couple of transponder chips.

The key number is 3T0 837 202 H on all 3 flip keys I have. I just want the correct transponder chips. There seems to be quite a few different ID48 transponder chips.

You could try going to your local key cutter and ask him for a couple of chips.

I had to do this once as customer couldnt wait 2 weeks for delivery from aliexpress

Had to pay him £6 for 2 when they are about 67p each

Burt needs must😉
