Wet weather cut slicks limited ability and 220bhp

Harsh, but fair :D

Oh and you missed out 30 litres of compressed natural gas from the equation

BANG!

Still not hooked up - couldn't do it last night, so it might have to wait a fair few more days, as run to the sun is occupying this weekend. :dtp: :D

Filling your car up with LPG is like making love to an Ugly woman.

Close yer eyes, and get it over with as soon as possible:D

bbttt

Car swapping tomorrow with my mate so he can have it for the day - but I doubt it will be fully working as the snapped boost pipe kind of denies the ability for the powershot to operate. :( Still, if we're lucky, you never know - I might be on gas up to Blackpool. :D

Well, little update. Had to have a bit of a rethink on the positions of the two regulators in the very cramped furby engine bay.... So now they're about 4" closer to the airbox.

Turned out its first position must have been bad as the main copper supply pipe from the tank actually broke right off. Engine movement must have been too much. Now the regulators are free to move a little more in themselves although still attached to the strut brace. The copper pipe has been retrimmed and secured back in the first regulator. All thats left to do now is wait for my race pipe from Allards for that boost tap. Then finally I should have it running.

so what emotion overcomes the big day?

looking forward......or craping yourself??

daz:thumbup:

Jason, I am hoping to upload some pics later (we had a power cut here for a whille).

Visited Stu this morning to pick up some stuff and had a little drive about ;)

My experience so far:

* Smoke wise it's less when not on full blat, and more on full blat on mine (dunno if that's coz I've not tuned the gas flow min/max/cutin)

* Fuel economy HAS improved on the derv side

* Refill wise - several Shell petrol stations have autogas. Annoyingly the one in Fareham was 'out', and the one near Newbury was too :( Ended up going past inlaws to watch the footie and filled it up in Grove at a Texaco.

You'll have the same filler as me. Just pretty much follow the instructions on the pump. The one thing to ensure is that it's locked in properly, and that you've managed to get the handle to clip in place. This in turn locks the nozzle onto the vehicle. Only once that's done, you press & keep holding a button and gas starts flowing. If like me you are basically sh*tting yourself (first fillup here too :o ) and you depress the button when the handle released itself (didn't clip it into place) the pump cuts out straight away. If that happens just take off the nozzle and place back in the pump, and try again.

Filling it is dead-easy once you manage to get the proper coupling, just hold button until the gas slows down flowing, I filled it up for a shade over a tenner when the last LED (green one) had mostly gone off.

Regards fitting the stuff in the engine bay:

Mine was fitted to the side of the airbox (engine side), by the looks of it rivited from inside the airbox. You cannot see a great deal of it beyond that.

I'll try to upload the pics tomorrow once I've dropped SWMBO off at work (lack of powercuts permitting :P )

Also I think you'd probably want a non-LPG map and an LPG map, custom code can be switched but it's a pain to use VAGCOM really.

Good luck with the remaining fitting :)

once again bbttt

once again, you'll have to wait. ;) I believe my race pipe with boost tapoff has been made and in the post to me. Once thats fitted and the boost gauge is wired up to it, then I shall be away. ;)

So how are you going to try it then if you are away:confused:

Are you away for a long time ?

Are you going any where nice ?

I'll stop before it gets silly:D
