New KODIAQ SE Drive and SE L Executive

An update to the KODIAQ range will see a new SE Drive trim level replace the previous SE grade. It builds on the already generous specification of the SE model, but adds new 18” Ascella anthracite alloy wheels, electrically adjustable, heated and folding door mirrors with integrated indicators and Amundsen satellite navigation with 8" touchscreen display and integrated Wi-Fi. Customers also get ŠKODA’s feature-packed Infotainment Online (1 year) as standard, along with front parking sensors and a rear-view parking camera. As with the SE model, the SE Drive is available with five and seven seater layouts with the latter also adding variable boot floor and cargo storage compartments in the boot.

The KODIAQ SE Drive is available with two engine options; a 1.5 TSI petrol and a 2.0 TDI. Both develop 150PS and can be specified with a seven-speed DSG. The 2.0 TDI is also available with four-wheel drive. Prices start from £30,415 OTR.

For customers demanding even more equipment, ŠKODA has added a new SE L Executive trim grade. This succeeds the previous SE L and adds a number of new features, including 19” Cursa anthracite alloy wheels, leather upholstery, and electrically adjustable, heated, foldable and driver-side auto-dimming door mirrors with boarding spots and memory function. SE L Executive buyers also benefit from an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function and a rear-view parking camera as standard.

All SE L Executive models are fitted with seven seats as standard, and come with three engine options; 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI petrol units with outputs of 150PS and 190PS respectively, and a 2.0 TDI diesel that generates either 150PS or 200PS. Four-wheel drive is an option on the 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines. Prices for KODIAQ SE L Executive models start from £34,275 OTR.

Thank goodness I got my  SEL just in time.  Hate leather seats!

SE L executive from £34,275 to £41,080 before adding options

Anyone know when they're likely to start building the new spec?

My dealer confirmed my SE L will become a SE L Executive if its built once the Executives specification starts

Going by Skoda logic, they’ll start to build them soon, park them up at Kralove airfield for 6 months awaiting components to complete build, and not pass any info onto dealers/ customers as to what’s happening.

The spec changes and ever increasing prices certainly puts a question mark over buying a Kodiaq No.3.

The good ol' internal combustion engine rules it out for me. My next car in a few years will be electric, of that I have no doubt at all.

The latest SMMT figures (December) show 25.5% of cars sold in UK are 100% electric.   I doubt  Enyaq (the only electric Skoda sells in UK) is anywhere near 25% of Skoda sales, so Skoda not making what UK buys.

15.7% were hybrids, or plug in hybrids

15.3% were mild hybrids

38.7% were petrol

4.8% were diesel (less than 1 in 20)

https://www.smmt.co.uk/vehicle-data/car-registrations/

So pure petrol or diesel is under 44%

So Kodiaq already has unwanted engine type for 56% of buyers

They are playing catch-up... but that's not an uncommon thing for Skoda. VAG will want to sell as many VW/Audi branded electric cars at higher prices before they start selling smaller, cheaper Skoda ones.

Just wait for the compaints about electric mileage and other electric issues. I suggest that some people on other sites are regretting purchasing a PHEV. Pure electric may be a better way to go, but of course there are charging issues, and range isn't enough for me.

I have lot's of doubts!  Unless they can get "true" range to at least 350 miles I will be staying with fossil fuel.

We go for holidays in cottages in the UK. Few have charging points and in rural locations these points have few and far between. Petrol for now.

One thing about specifications, I would always ask what have you lost compared to earlier versions? We bought a new Kodiaq and found we lost several useful features even though we thought that the trim was the same. For example, overtaking sensors in mirrors. This safety feature is currently not available due to a shortage of chips because of the current pandemic.

It is worth looking at the latest specifications very carefully.

EV's might well not be suitable for everyone or everywhere but when there are no close Rapid or Super Rapid chargers handy or even fast ones there are 3 pin plug chargers

which are very handy for overnight charging at holiday homes or when visiting people.

Super Rapid Charging is expensive if you have no special deal with different providers and can cost as much as buying liquid fuel for an efficient ICE vehicle.
