Despite many attempts (and three different phones) I can not get all my contacts to synchronise with my car.

It seems as if newer contacts synchronise, but some (and only some) older contacts do not.

There is no rhyme or reason to this as far as I can see.

Anyone else had the same problem? 

It is probably not relevant but I recently found I could not get my contacts to sync at all, although they used to do so.

Eventually I found there was a security setting that must have been added recently to the Android system that withheld permission for the car's Bluetooth connection to read the contacts. It was easy then to turn off that feature.

 

 

I'm having a similar issue with the sync of contacts on my Huawei P30 Pro. I cannot get them to be synced no matter what. 

 

My wife has a P30 (not Pro, not Lite) and it syncs all of the contacts. My work phone is. Samsung S7 and syncs the contacts. 

Difference between my phone and my wife's phone is the Emui version (she has an older version). 

 

For my P30 Pro it's impossible. 

I will test with another P30 Pro from a friend and see if the issue is happening on the same level of Emui. If it fails there also, the issue. Is clearly lying at the end of the phone. 

Well I managed to sort it our using a hard reset on my P30 pro. 

However, call logs are not synced. But I am  happy with the fact that the contacts are syncing with the car, and thats enough for me at this moment. 

anyone have any other experience with this? I have about 2/3rds  my contacts synced. Oddly they all show up as duplicates (so where Mrs X has a phone number of 123456789, it shows that she has two phone numbers, both the same)

As I understand it, an iPhone can connect to the car in one of two ways (not both) - 'traditional' Bluetooth phone sync OR CarPlay (when you don't need the phone sync 'cos you just use Siri to make a call etc). I use carPlay so can't really comment further on the phone sync.

 

I assume (but don't know) that AndroidAuto is similar.

Sorry I should have said that I am using Android Auto. 

Hi, anyone fix this issue? My 2020 mk4 VRS used to read all the names in my call log and now half of them are just numbers 🤷🏾‍♂️ but if you search contacts they are all there with names!!!

The longer I have the car the more issues I seem to find with it, which is a shame as I love the car 😞
