brake parts

Brembo I think.

Skoda parts are rubbish, I've tried Bosch, ok but generate too much dust just like OE, ATE disks are OK, I did try their ceramic pads once but the car (fabia) got written off 10,000 miles later so couldn't tell if they were everything ATE claim, low dust and low wear.

So far Brembo disks and pads on the Octavia have impressed, low and even wear certainly and not prone to rust before your eyes as do the Skoda rubbish.  The hubs are covered in a nice rust/dust resistant shiny coating of something or other. Nice to see the friction surfaces are still smooth and shiny after a year though mileage still only 8000.miles or so.

Skoda don’t make brake pads, they will get them from someone like ATE, Bosch, Brembo, TRW

I would say brembo are the worst, why? Because they’re not true brembo, aftermarket brembo pads and discs are a Chinese company using the Brembo branding, much like Eicher.

had numerous customer cars that have had brembo parts and are squeaking away very very quickly

personally I would go pagid or oem.

also take a look online at EBC glue failures, people have literally had their pads fall out the caliper because of it

The Superb MK3 uses either 312mm or 340mm diameter front brake discs, and either 300mm or 310mm diameter rear brake discs.

The 312mm and 340mm front brake discs use different brake pads, but the 300mm and 310mm rear brake discs use the same brake pads.

Of course Skoda dont make many things, but you've only to look at all the brake threads in the Superb 3 forum for instance to realise their rear discs in particular are complete sh1te. Reflects my own experience. Sourced from the cheapest supplier and great for the dealer network who rely on that regular overpriced business.

Discs and pads are made in countries all over the world, many including Bosch are made in China as well as Italy. Some brands use multiple suppliers, its very fluid and constantly changing, driven by business economics. There are 3 or so big parent companies that have many sub brands, TMD friction for example

I'd like you to prove that statement. Eicher is an Indian brand. Most of their production is in India. Brembo is an Italian brand, their production is worldwide including China

Aftermarket is not the same as OE, they are often better.

In the UK, Eurocarparts have exclusive rights to use Pagid branding. Pagid is a brand owned by TMDfriction.

All pads have to comply with ECE R90

What is clear is there is a large market in counterfeit pads and discs. Thats why you should never buy from the likes of ebay unless you are absolutely sure of the vendor. Not only unknown quality but very likely non compliant with ECE R90

They recognise the rear discs and pads are an issue and there is actually a tsb relating to them.

by eicher as an example I was meaning cheap parts made and then boxed up in multiple brands of boxes.

from what I believe or was told a company called ASIMCO Meilian Braking Systems Langfang Co. Ltd was acquired by Brembo. On the basis that they produce brembo parts, and in exchange ASIMCO can produce brake parts and brand them as Brembo. - whether this is true or not I can’t be 100%

I recommended my choices based on being in the trade and what I’ll happily fit to my vehicle.

I understand the issues with counterfeit parts but I personally had new ebc pads from ebc that the backing separated from. Never would I use them again.

thanks for all yr opinons guys - i didnt expect to open up such an impassioned debate ;  I've opted for Bosch (whether made in china or not) from Amazon, as nxt day inc dlvy matters.  Hopefully Bosch still exercise some quality control.
