Auto Break Hold not displaying/working

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Car model: KAROQ SE L TSI S-A Auto

Sorry this might be a dumb question, but after my car service something doesnt seem right with the dashboard lights.

Before when i drive around and come to a stop, the below light would appear on my dashboard and car would not move until i hit the gas paddal.

SKODA Press Brake Pedal

Now after the service the light doesnt come on at all, when the car comes to stop no auto break is engaged. I'm not sure how to turn that function on.

I did hit a button (A) on the gear selector.

Now when the car comes to a stop get a green (P) icon and the car seems to have a engaged handbreak. see attached image, i know in the image you can see the foot break icon but that only appears when the lever is set to P mode.

Does anyone know why? or what i need to do to get my normal auto break back on?

Thank you.

When the green P icon is on the autobrake is on. When the red P icon shows the parking brake is on.

its odd why was i getting the foot icon before then?

No idea, never seen it on mine. Mine is manual, don't know if it is something to do with DSG, and mine is virtual cockpit. Have you had a software update?

i dont think so, i think i might to dig out the manual and see as if there is a option for auto hold and auto break or something like that

I think your system is working as it should.

Sounds like it was switched off at service - Button A as you described it above.

Then you switched it on again and it worked as normal.

As above - the icon flips from Green to Red to show Auto Hold vs. Handbrake.  It's great.  Just press the Go pedal to Go.

I often switch mine off when parking at my door to avoid the handbrake being on when car not in use for a day or 2.  Then  I must remember to switch it on next time out.

You're soon reminded if you don't switch it on when the car runs away down hill after you come to a stop and take your foot off the pedal 😃

The green "shoe on break pedal" icon comes on when Auto break is on and the gear selector lever is on Neutral. That's to warn you that in Neutral the Auto break feature is temporarily disabled and you need to press the break pedal if you want to hold the car stationary.

Are you referring to Autobrake or parking brake?

Auto brake automatically converts to parking brake upon parking and back to auto brake again when the car is restarted.

(Would a moderator please fix the recurring spelling error in my previous post? Thanks!)
