Fabia monte carlo eibach springs

Featured Replies

Hi I'm just wondering If anyone knows if a 2012 fabia monte carlo front shockers are different to a standard shockers?!

ie... the thickness of the bottom of the shockers where the spring would go over the shocker insert just before it seats into place!

The reason is I bought some eibach springs many years ago & finally got round to fitting them to find the spring won't fit over the shocker!! 😤🤬

Thanks in advance

Steve

Welcome.

What engine has your car got?

Is it Standard to a Elegance, Greenline, petrols or diesels etc compared to a those on a Monte Carlo  TSI / TDI or a vRS do you mean?

Someone will have the part numbers.

The dampers (shocks) are not different as new cars were sold / delivered 2010-2014/15

Fabia Monte Carlo Mk2 and vRS were available with Eibach Springs as an Option.

These were fitted at the Dealers at the PDI.   The dampers were not changed, they had the Standard Shocks for the 1.2 TSI / Tdi Monte Carlo.

Which Skoda called Sports Suspension.   (Only the name was sporty)

The Monte Carlo is just a trim specification, so is likely to be have standard ride height suspension. It's not an RS model.

What are your build codes?

Take a photo of the white label/sticker in the spare wheel well area under the carpet, as that shows some of the build codes.

If you've got build code G02, which is standard ride height, then your front shock absorber have OEM part number 6Q0413031BJ as shown below.

The UK Monte Carlos on Trinity Alloys & 205/40 R 17's,. had and have the same roof height and ground clearance figures as a vRS.    These were given as less then the other models.   Then the Greenline was less again.  This is where Skoda called the Monte and vRS suspension SPORT.   The threads are here from 2010 with all the scores on the doors.

Montes have "Sports" shocks and springs iirc. About 15mm lower than standard. Shouldn't make any difference to fitting springs however all else being equal.

Heres the boot sticker off my monte if its any addition.

To my memory standard the Monte and vRS were 10 mm lower as per brochures and the dealer fit Eibach were shown as 15mm lower than STANDARD models.    At the debates back over 10 years ago I said measure to the roof height as Skoda numbers are fiction.   Greenline ground clearance was the tyre circumference difference and under panels.   A vRS cover under the engine gave even less clearance than Greenline plastic.

I had read 10 and 15mm and assumed the lower figure, my bad.

Many of the build codes are unreadable on that photo.

However, a couple of the build codes look like they might be G04 and L14...which would suggest sports suspension.

Front springs L14

(1) 6Q0 411 105 N coil spring
3 paint marks
2 paint marks
red
green
2 PR-L14

Front shock absorbers G04

Engine code CAYC

1.6 TDI CR DPF 77 kW 2010–2014 CAYC (EA189) 1598 ccm, I4, 16V, DOHC, common-rail, turbocharged 77 kW (105 PS; 103 hp) at 4400 rpm 250 Nm. (184 lb•ft) at 1500–2500 rpm 5-speed manual (MQ250), FWD 188 km/h (117 mph) 10.9 4.2 / 67.3 / 56.0 109

Maybe best that the OP posts what Monte Carlo they have, petrol or diesel and with petrol there were even 4  69 ps Monte Carlo registered in the UK.

EDIT. Only 2 16v Monte Carlo were registered in the UK in 2011 and are still on the road.

(We are assuming it is a hatch and not an estate.)

Then best they post the numbers / code of the Eibach springs they actually have.
