Dealer has said I must order before 1st April to avoid price hike. Interestingly, VW said the same about the Polo which we also tried. This feels like a pressure tactic for end of month /fiscal year. Or am I being cynical?

Are you in the UK,  and what is the guesstimate for delivery to you of the car if you order today?

Do they have any pre-ordered and on their way to them that they can sell and not just put in the Showroom?

Hello, yes sorry, in the UK. I've run some quotes through CarWow too and haven't had any response which also makes me think the dealers are being cagey about something.

 

Earliest indication of delivery was September, nothing obvious in the current order books.

 

Spec is looking like:

Monte Carlo Red/Black 110ps 6spd manual

Comfort Pack

Winter Pack

The gamble is a price hike overnight.   Surely there must be one coming.  Interest rate rises, energy, exchange rate etc and that is just with the UK who do not have a war in a country very near and that is a producer of materials and parts required to manufacture cars.

I was in my local dealer on Monday and he was on the phone telling someone that the prices were going up so to sign their paperwork that day

Good morning. Yes, ordered on Thursday, a Race Blue Fabia SE L with Winter Pack, Light Low and Assist Low package. I've got VCDS so will be able to add some of the other features we would have liked, but that formed part of a wider pack that we didn't want (Hill Hold Asssist, etc).

 

Price for the same car on Friday morning was £295 more (base price had gone up and so had paint options)

Sadly, It seems that way, certainly the SE L doesn't. It's part of the convenience package, and there is now no longer "options" just packs
