Android Auto Battery Issues - Wireless Charging and auto starting

Featured Replies

Hey all,

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction? I am wanting to prevent Android Auto from auto starting. I am finding that the wireless charging pad is unable to keep the phone charged while AA is running. This is pretty dissapointing as it makes the pad meaningless when trying to use AA.

I am wanting to know if there is a way to prevent AA from launching, both in the car and on my phone. I only want it to launch when I choose to select it from the infotainment.

I have a Pixel 6 Pro and can't for the life of me figure out how to stop it from auto launching.

Anyone able to shed light on the matter? Anyone also noticing the slow charging on the wirelesss pad?

In terms of charging I noticed a huge difference between apps that I use on Android auto. Google maps + Spotify definitely drained my battery on the pad and the phone heated up more. I just did a test today and in a 13 minute trip wireless charger managed to get it from 69 to 74% while using Waze+Spotify and the phone was not hot either.

And the auto start option was probably forgotten by Skoda.

Appreciate the reply. Might give Waze a shot.

Wish Android Auto itself didn't launch navigation automatically though. It's an Android thing more than a Skoda thing, from what I read. Sometimes I just want to play music without using maps/navigation at all.

Guess I'll submit feedback to Google and wait for some updates to potentially change it in the future...

Having Waze on is pretty useful though, you can see traffic jams, people mark police/accidents.
