Airbag light

Recommended Posts

Climatic switch only worked on number 4.

Have now sorted that out.  But,,

Airbag light stays on.. not the one in middle of dash, the one on speedo.

Comes on when turn ignition on, goes off then 2secs later comes back on.

Anybody got any ideas plz....

As the airbag ecu has detected a fault you will need the correct diagnostic kit to turn the light off and kit will direct you to the cause of the problem, common problems are the connectors under the driver/passenger seats with the passenger most common as that tends to get moved back/forwards more than the drivers unless there are lots of different drivers ?

Climatic switch only works on 4 and you sorted it out, does that mean you changed the resistor? And if so you may have disconnected the passenger air bag to get to it? If this is the case then it needs to be reset with VCDS as the ECU will store a fault code.

Exactly my thoughts. Pas airbag needs to be removed to access, if they did not disconnect the battery before hand it will have logged a code. Will need code erased by scanner.

£40 X-tool scanner for VW's will put this light out, if the fault is fixed or it was accidentally set off. Cheaper then most places charge just to put it out for you and you have the tool for other issues.
