Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2018 seat leon 1.6 tdi same engine as octavia, their is a rattle on acceleration  when cold.

It goes away when warm but their is a slight rattle still not as bad.

The rattle is underload.

Do injectors rattle.

Your help is much appreciated

Certainly doesn’t sound right. Could be a rattling cam follower? Doesn’t sound cheap! How many miles has the Leon done?

The injectors cam be very noisy when not working properly but you will also notice interrupted acceleration and and erratic idling. Because my car has high mileage I always leave it for 2 minutes idling when starting with the engine cold, and not pushing hard until is warm.
A stethoscope might point to precise location of where this noise is coming from. If you don't have one, you cam diy one with a long screwdriver an half of plastic bottle( see on you tube) but be careful is dangerous  with the engine running getting close using that

The car has 120k miles.

I had my timing belt changed but the mechanic didn't time it properly.

After arguing  with him that the car doesn't sound right ,he checked it and timed it properly.

I drove the car for about 500 miles before.

After he looked at it the car drove fine no noises.

After about 8000miles I had the oil changed and since then its making this noise.

I have had the car for a few months.

I have changed oil again a couple.of.days ago.

Thanks for the reply.
