Missing filter?

Featured Replies

Was doing an oil level check today and noticed this cover wasn’t fitted properly so I took it off and wondered if there ought to be a filter in there?

No.

I believe that is a device to prevent water being ingested into the engine;  there s no filter inside it.   N.B. It is not designed to allow you to drive through deep water,  so don't be tempted to do so!

Well it certainly doesn't fit on very well, knock it and it comes off. Might have to tape it into position.
