Gps tracker installation

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to Install a gps tracker and it has 3 wires. + ,- and acc.  I think acc isn't  necessary.

Any ideas from where and how can I take 12v constant?

I don't want straight from battery , I don t want from the driver's fuse box. I need something different for obvious reasons. I need to hide the tracker somewhere and take 12v constant .

Also ,I see that I must add a 2A fuse somewhere in the middle.

The 12v socket in the console or the one in the boot?

Yes I also thought of the 12v in the boot.

But I don't think it's working all the time if you lock the car for example

As far as I know they're both on the same circuit. Just plug something into the boot socket and see if it still operates after you lock the car.

It certainly was 12V whether the car was locked or not on my 2015 Octavia estate.

Well, I tried it. It's still working with locked car..

So it seems a nice place to.hide the tracker

Now I must find out how to remove carpets and get 12v from the 12v socket

I wasn't talking about the voltage, just the fact that as the front is live all the time so the rear would be if they're on the same circuit.
