Hi 

 

I'm looking to get some new wheels to replace some aging 15" alloys. I really like the wheels on the VRS but has so far been difficult to find a decent set!

I came across these ŠKODA 17" SAVIO Matt Black Alloy Wheel | Horton ŠKODA (theskodashop.co.uk) for the Mk3 Fabia, but wondered if they would fit a Mk2?

Fabia MK1 to MK4 all have 5/100 PCD

So looking at the specs of the wheel it looks ok but I’m not sure if ET46 is a problem or not. Also it says the tyres are 215 width which I’m not sure if will be a problem or not 🤯

215/40R17 fitted to 7Jx17 ET46 rims are for the Fabia MK3, not the earlier Fabia MK1 and Fabia MK2 cars. You might have problems with rubbing when you turn the steering wheel to full lock, or possibly elsewhere too. The Fabia MK3 uses slightly bigger tyres, so is likely to have more room in the wheelarches.

 

With 205 tyres, you would be better off with less offset, such as ET38 to ET42 to better fill the wheelarch.

 

Maybe look at 6.5Jx17 ET40 rims from the Skoda Scala/Kamiq. The Scala uses 205/50R17 on these rims, and the Kamiq uses 205/55R17 on these rims. For the Fabia MK2, you might be able to use 205/45R17 without rubbing with this width and offset of rim. It would be an oversize tyre on the Fabia MK2, with an outside diameter similar to 185/65R15 and 195/55R16.

I really like the black wheels, like the set for the Monte Carlo and also the black vRS Gigaro’s but I can’t seem to find any decent sets anywhere.

 

I may have to go for some aftermarket brands but not sure what are good and what to stay away from!!
