Today, I Purchased a 2011 Fabia 1.4 VRS Estate. Could you please advise one a couple of things?

All the parts on your quote look correct, including the track control arms.

 

You will need the two M16x1.5 double hexagon nuts that are shown on your quote labelled number 10 in the first diagram below (ie. OEM part number 6Q0407396B), as these self-destruct when removing.

 

6Q0407396B (tabs on the hub nut self-destruct when removing...hence can't be reused)

I would reuse all the other nuts and bolts if I was doing the job, or at least assess each part as I took them off. However, it makes sense that an authorised Skoda garage isn't going to want to mess about with rusty parts, and reuse bolts that have a very small risk of failure if not replaced with new ones.

So I do get the nuts, bolts and screws quoted?

Sorry, I'm not a mechanic and not skilled with motor maintenence.

I just want to make sure I'm not being sold stuff I don't need.

So I accept the extra parts included in the quote?

I didn't got for the ball joints, btw.

I don't have the quote to hand for the ball joints but I think they were 40 quid a pop.

I can see this costing a few quid to fix the couple of flaws. In the main, it's bang on.

I hope it's worth it.

Last week I was ready to pull the trigger on a 19 plate, Honda Civic 1.0 SR with 9k miles. That would have been 18 grand.

I was offered this and went for it.

Let's have some fun, right.

At the end of the day, I'm happy to spend what I need to get it 100%.

@DutyPaid - I'll 3rd the "avoid Avons" with a similar story about cracking.

 

Seatbelt I think any garage should be able to do; no idea about belt price though.

I've sorted it through my local Skoda dealership.

I went to a garage this morning and they wouldn't touch a seatbelt repair, referred me to the dealer.

That being the case, booked in for Wednesday.

More than I'd like to pay,but I'd rather have a new seat belt fitted by Skoda.

 

When I removed the drive shaft nut from a 2002 VW Polo when it was 6 or 7 years old, the tang(s) on the nut did break off as intended. When I removed that nut on a late 2009 SEAT Ibiza, the tang deflected slightly and sprung back into original shape - that was not too impressive, I did replace that nut when re-assembling things - same part number.

Sorry for the late reply but it is an easy fix, my monte had this same problem and what I did to fix it was take out the seatbelt and clean spray it with some silicone lubricant.

Worked a treat and they've been fine since.

Passengers side was worse, can't believe it passed NCT like this.

 

 

 

Its not too bad of a job, dont even need to remove the seat. Only annoyance is that it uses 12 point bits to fasten the seatbelt into the car.

All sorted for now.

New tyres, new wishbones and new seat belt.

 

Suspension next. Far too hard and looks too low.

That's for another day and a new thread.

Saw a pic of your car in another thread, that is far too low to be on standard suspension. Good luck with whatever suspension you do get.
