Help with front and rear discs and pads

Featured Replies

Hello,

Fabia 1.2 tsi 2011 nov/ model 2012. 79000 km.

I need help to determine what i should have for size o  both discs and breaks for front and rear.

I have already changed completely last winter but i am suspicious that i might have got wront size. Either on a disc or pads or the most likely complete.

Symptoms: Car is pulling, brake dust on discs, smells burned, even after long driving, braking discs ( still new ones) faded due to dust ( not looking as it should, as a mirror ).

Would be nice if someone can help me with size so i can get a car on a lift and start to measure.

Thanks so much in advance

Sincerely

Alex

The build codes for the front brakes and rear suspension aren't shown in that list of 46 build codes. There might actually be about 180 build codes in total.

You can get the full list of build codes from erwin skoda, but it costs about 7 Euros for 1 hour's access which should be enough time to download all the build codes.

https://erwin.skoda-auto.cz/erwin/showHome.do

There's also an ebay seller on the Italian site who can sell you a list of the car's build codes for about 3 Euros. Search "VW Audi Seat Skoda VIN decoder" on ebay.

Unless the car has been modified the correct size front discs are 256mm and usually Teeves pads and the rear if fitted with discs are 230mm and usually lucas type pads, some of the higer spec models have 292mm front discs and could have Lucas or Teeves pads fitted

I have always used Textar discs and pads, the disc pads are really good quality and the discs are coated just like Skoda originals but a far better price, you can download the Textar Brake Book Catalouge and check all variations of the different models to find the sizes and diferent tyes of pads discs shoes kits etc
