Hybrid-problem updates

Featured Replies

A word of warning to those with hybrids.

My car had a recall to change the communication gateway, as a precaution.

After the gateway was changed, the entertainment system/android auto was disabled, as was cruise control, the hybrid mode button (so impossible to alter hybrid mode) and voice control.

Apparently the dealer was mystified and I had to take the car as is. Currently waiting for Skoda Europe to let the dealer know how to fix it!

There is also a pending recall relating to the hybrid battery, but the dealer does not have the necessary training to carry this out yet.

Not impressed, but then customer service is less than wonderful at the dealer

Apparently the dealer needs to configure the new gateway. Why this could not have been done at the time is a mystery to me.

Back to the dealer next week.

after a software update all is (nearly) fixed. Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects during a call, which is not at all handy.

Moral of this story-if you have a hybrid and the gateway needs to be changed, ask if they have the software update to go with the hardware

Hey Rmills,

Im from portugal aswell and im facing a similar issue.

I left my car in MCOSTAS Braga, to update to the latest software 1896, and after the update i couldn't connect to skoda connect.

The car lost connectivity to mobile data.

I had to leave the car there for 3 days already and they still don't know what to do.

They told me they had to replace a connectivity module (5F i think) and they would try to connect again.

Hi

The connectivity module replacement is what started my problems. Skoda did not tell the garage that they had to update the software as well as changing the module.

As of last week, my car was updated to version 2xxx (i think 2088) and all now works ok.

If your dealership doesn't know about this, then call SiVA (the importer) and complain. They will push the dealer/Skoda.

It took me 3 attempts to get my cat working, but SIVA should have that information.
