I have owned this one for just over a year. Full service history, but done at kwik fit by previous owner.  Took it to skoda for the first time, got it back with a noise that appears after 2000rpm. Just a diesel noise, nothing distinguishable.  Took technician for a ride with me, he claims its normal, but my ears are bleeding after a 30 minutes of motorway drive at 70mph. It was never this noisy. Skoda can't find any faults. Changed cambelt and pump just now, nothing changed. 50k on the odometer.

 

Anyone can suggest anything? On idle or when below 2k rpm sound normal...

Just to explain this a bit better, the sound level increase, similar to having a vacuum cleaner running under the hood. 

 

All hoses, air filter were checked.

I'd have been a bit more insistent if it was a new noise after a service. However it does sound like it's something related to turbo / air intake. I'd re-examine turbo pipes / air filter housing etc. Anything that could be disturbed during a service. It's that vacuum cleaner noise above 2000rpm that possibly suggests that to me.

I tried, to no avail...thry claim its normal diesel noise. Last night drove for 90 miles mix of mwy and traffic. Was no noise to start with, after being stuck in trfc for 30 minutes, noise returned, i suspect turbo, i usually switch off the stop start when driving actively, to prevent turbo getting too hot, yestersay I forgot, so I suspect this somehow affects it. There are no leaks in air system anywhere, no smoke from exhaust, but the fact it start at 2000rpm, makes mw think it is in fact the turbo.

It is a very noisy engine to be fair that 1.4 triple.
