Reset DSG

Recommended Posts

Hi

How is the reset of the engine done on a car without key to start relearning? I have only found how to do it with the key.

Hello,

Do you have in mind method with holding accelerator for 20s? I saw this method on youtube too but I am sceptical if it does anything at all. Do you have any issues with gearbox? In case of car equipped with kessy you have to press engine start button without holding brake pedal, this is equivalent of turning key once and it will turn ignition on.

There are multiple ways you can do this.

  1. Use VCDS to reset the DSG. You need to understand coding
  2. Use OBDElevenPro One click App (Launch App->Click menu and select Garage->Apps->Workshop->Basic setting of transmission). Requires credits (if you are lifetime pro user) or Ultimate subscription.
  3. Start the engine. Accelerator Pedal to metal for 20s. DSG will reset.

Hope this helps.

So if I go with option 3 all I need to do is hold down the accelerator pedal then press the on/off button once so the car powers on then count to 20.

How do I know if it worked, will there be a noise or something?

Starting the engine and while stationary with the shifter in N then holding the accelerator to the floor for 20 seconds is not that smart an idea.

If actually doing this please video and put a link on here, it might go viral..
