Engine Rattle

Featured Replies

Any help is appreciated ive got a mk3 vrs and it’s started rattling when moving at idle there is nothing soon as move off there is a tinny rattle noise coming from somewhere outside the car possibly the engine area

Really you need someone who is with you and the car to help you identify the source of the noise and what action needs to fix it.

Ive got it in the garage in morning see what it is was just after a guide of to what it could be

It's total guess work without hear it. Could be any number of items. Common culprits, fuel lines, under trays, cooling fans, engine shrouds or other plastic shields, turbo heat shield......

Is the car rough idling.?

No the car is perfect at idle it’s soon as you move the noise appears

I had a bad rattle on my 2014 when the car was new.

It turned out to be the plastic under the steering wheel.

The dealer stuck a thick piece of tape behind and it solved the issue.
