Green wire in the boot area

Anybody have any idea what this green wire is doing in the boot area around the spare tyre? The wire terminates to a foil square and is tucked under the plastic covers in the boot.

I found a similar discussion about Karoq (below), but I have both the virtual pedal and the towing hook fitted to the car. The virtual pedal is based on a radar module, which these wires are not related to.

edit: in the quoted topic in the quoted topic a reference to water leak detection was mentioned. I was not aware of any such system being installed regularly in a car... the wire and the installation comes with a cost and I can't really see the benefit of it.
