Coilovers

Featured Replies

I thought I'd start a nice informative discussion, by saying...

What do Coilovers do?

A 'coil over' is a combined spring and damper unit.

Usually fitted these days with an adjustable platform allowing adjustment of vehicle height.

Based on motorsport origins where a greater set up scope and space restrictions meant a regular spring and damper unit wasnt suitable.

You're a fountain of knowledge

Well that is what a coil over is really.

What a coil over does is enable a car to travel over uneven surfaces I guess. Absorbing bumps etc and keeping the car on the road.
