KEY FOB - SECURITY ISSUES

Featured Replies

On Tuesday I lost my key in a local shopping centre car park.   It is a lease and so for security I had to get the spare key reprogrammed as I do not know who now has the first key.  The reprogramming seems to have kicked in some sort of security issue.

I Can now only start the car by holding it right against the START button and it has to be pretty precise at that -- the car otherwise unlocks fine with the key.  The garage say it is a security thing when you reprogramme just one key -- they are saying (and I do not know if they were certain) when the new key arrives they will programme the two keys together and the issue should be solved.    Anyone had similar experience with a Skoda key problem ?    (the costs are 313 for the key and 69 to reprogramme so expensive)

I wouldnt say thats a security issue.

And it seems like thats more than likely they havent coded the kessy correctly. The immobilizer is programmed correctly but not the kessy module to recognize the key.
