Are these required or is there a setting on the infotainment system?

If you have matrix lights, they can be sorted by selecting Travel Mode. Normal lights will need deflectors

i thought a lot of cars without matrix lights have option for changing from left to right hand driving in europe?i know my so as sportsline superb and his car has that option on it.

My Octavia with halogen lights needed deflectors, my previous Audi RS4 with Bi-Xenon lights could be put into "Tourist Mode".

 

It all depends on the headlights, it seems that if they have a single bulb plus mirror or matrix lights then they don't need deflectors (as the hardware and software exist to be able to horizontally adjust the beam) but any with a two filament halogen will definitely need deflectors.

As @fox2319 says, if you have the Matrix lights then you’re OK without deflectors. Otherwise, with the standard LED lights fitted to UK Octy 4s then you DO need them.
