Check left parking light error message

Recommended Posts

Hi

I recently bought a skoda mk3 2014 and when I drove in to a dark tunnel I got a error message on  the dashboard saying to check left parking light.

While stationary, I tested the different light settings, and I then got the error again, but the lights seem fine, both the left and the right one are the same and there's no physical issue really.

How can I fix the error message?

Assuming Swedish market cars have the same sort of parking lights as UK ones:-

  1. Stop the car, and leave the engine running for now.
  2. Turn on the LH indicator.
  3. Stop the engine and remove the key.
  4. Open the door, and the lights on buzzer should sound.
  5. Check the LH front and rear sidelights both operate.

If you didn't get the buzzer, that's your problem. If one or both sidelights don't operate, that seems likely to be your problem. Beyond that, I suspect a CANBus error.

Hi, I followed your instructions and both lights operate without any issue. This looks like a canbus error. Any idea on how to solve it?

What's the car history: Have you changed bulbs recently, like fitted LED in place of Halogen?  Have you made any coding changes to the car?

If you haven't then maybe previous owner did some changes.

Do you have something to read the error codes with?

I just yesterday rolled out the car from a dealership, so I will contact them and let them have a look. Just wanted to make sure this isn't something that's super quick and easy to fix before contacting them. Anyway, thanks a lot!
