Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hot a warning in Octavia E-Tec mild hybrid. Was in a hot day, Air con on whilst stationary, engine not running for about 20 mins.

Just bumping this up, RAC came and said not to worry it sometimes happens. It happened again a couple of times this week. Anyone experienced this warning?

Hi Jonop,

I have this happen consistently if i switch off the engine and turn the ignition straight back on. I am not bothered by it to be honest.

'Snagging faults' which Skoda / VW Group need to resolve.

It is a choice to not be bothered if you own the car or even just lease and are handing it back, but as well to report to an Authorised Repairer / Main Dealership while a car is in warranty.

Then they can not say, 'never seen or heard of that', or 'They all do that it is a characteristic designed in by VW Software engineers to keep owners amused'.

It is a glitch, even a fault that should not be there and needs resolving.   As well done while a car is within the manufacturers warranty.

Cheers for the responses, not overly worried about it now. It seems to be an  issue with the battery that controls the hybrid and other things being drained. 1st time it happened air con was on without engine running, when it happened this week, the blower was on to clear windscreen without engine running. As the RAC man said don’t worry about it. Silly VW over the top warning!

Hi all,

Thank you very much for your contribution to the forum, and sharing user experience!

I do not drive at the moment but I was calling with a friend who had the same error come up on his Skoda Octavia.

First I looked up the PDF for the manual. No error messages are in there.

Then I found this topic. I told him that apparently people do not worry about it too much and seem to be able to use their car normally.

Two and a half hours later he sent me a picture of the place where he got stranded. So that seems to be about the limit.
