I have Revo code on my VRS since July and i'm happy about it.

Recently (here in Greece) we participated in a Group Dyno day where many cars were dynoed (Nov 26/27/28).

The dyno was a Mustang (virtual inertia) thus simulating road conditions.

My run was in 4rth gear at 25 deg outside temp and lasted for 26 seconds.

The result was 189 Wheel HP and 307 Nm of torque.

The boost was at 22PSI in overboost area and 15PSI at 6000 Rpms.

The A/F ration was good too.

My setup that day was :

Revo 4bar option programm

N75J

SparkPlugs Denso IK22

BP Ultimate (100 octane) pump gas

All other stock

My 0-400 exit speed is over 160Km.

I was among the strongest cars dynoed that weekend..

Next plans is to fit a full exhaust system and fit my Intelligent water mister on the stock IC.

Then I'll dyno it again and i'll post the changes....

get your water mist on on go for high boost setting!!!!

Good to see you've got a nice strong car there Loukas... I bet it'll rock when you get the water spray sorted out! Cooling the IC helps loads, at a RR day that I sorted last month the guys at the rolling road place sprayed water on the turbo'd guy's intercoolers in addition to having the big fans on.

Do you think having the Denso Spark Plugs makes much difference?

Have you thought about getting a bigger intercooler (front mount)? There seems to be quite a bit of room in front of the radiators on the Octavia, just begging for a big intercooler ;)

For phsycological reasons mostly but I think the new ones are working under more stress (than foactory ones) and colder rating plugs are most suitable.

For the FMIC part you are partly right but....

During the dyno i measured (Vag-Com) the block 011 (air intake temp) and the results was that after the 4000 rpms the turbo is spitting fire into the engine (very hot air) so the temp went to 90+ deg ... :pupeyes:

This happens because our stock turbo is working in the limits (or out) of it's surging line characteristics where the requested boost levels (from ECU) forces the turbo to increase dramatically the air intake temp.

So under this situation even a FMIC installation cannot save you...

I decided to go Water Mist first and if we can save money to go for another turbo that can work in it's efficient range...

That sounds like some fairly serious boost, Loukas. For comparison, do any of our Jabba'd members know the sort of overboost figures Jabba use to get circa 230bhp and 300+ Nm out of an otherwise standard engine? And what do they consider to be safe boost figures to ensure reasonable engine life?

I think most of Jabbas map are 1.2bar with a mx of 1.4bar for the overboost. IIRC of course.

Loukas had 189whp and I think the 230bhp you are mentioning are at the flywheel. Right? Also, it seems Loukas did a static dyno test and not a dynamic?

That is some seriously high intake temps!!!

There are two different ways of using a dynamometer to measure engine/wheel power.

In a "statical" dynorun the engine power is being measured under load att every 500rpms for _a couple of seconds_ until the power "evens out" or gets "stable". This continues over the whole rev range.

A "dynamical" dynorun is just a "sweep" under load through the rev range and thus a little less of a stress on the engine since the revs never are constant. This especially have a positive effect on our turboengines since much less heat from the turbo is being developed. A static dynorun often shows about 5-10% less power than a dynamic and this can lead to some optimistic figures when compared to the specs from the car manufufacturers. All car manufacturers powerfigures are measured using the static type of power measuring and therefore they can't really be compared to the dynamical.
