CR150 pre turbo temp sensor

Featured Replies

Hi - I have a 4x4 cr150 tour de france estate - Its fair to say ive had a bit of a time with the car - from a broken wire under the battery box causing the 5a CAN BUS controller fuse and the inlet manifold let go inside and ran the coolant into the engine and took some time to source.

Long story short - in the past number of jobs the pre turbo temp sensor started playing up - I pulled it off - ordered a new one - in the process discovered that the plug was cracked - chopped it off and binned it... when the new sensor arrived - I can't remember the wire colour combination and they are different from the plug to the sensor flying lead - Could anyone confirm what goes to what. I  did make a note at the time but we moved some things about and it has since been misplaced. The sensor is grey / white wires

thanks in advance

You need to look to see what location exactly to confirm your temp sensor is going to, as you have positions 3 & 8 both pre-turbo.

Can you get a picture of the current replacement sensor, and it would be helpful to see the wires on that.

Part number if printed on it (should be)

No not to hand its a grey and white wires - can't remember the loom wires off hand but the plugs cut off the loom as it was damaged

Had a fair look at wiring, cannot see the colour combo you describe.

Unless someone has other ideas, a picture when near the car would help.

2-pin connector, where pin 1 should be a negative, so should be easier to locate which of the 2 wires goes where (I would hope)

So I put a sureseal connector onto the loom end as seen and the sensor still has the standard plug on it but you can see the wire colours

My brain power is very low this evening 🤣

What's the current status of your car now?

And I can see the colours now.

Your Pins 1 & 2 look back to front compared to the wiring diagrams?

If sensor doesn't work or gives weird reading/faults, then this will be why

So it should be brown to white blue to grey?

Makes no difference it's a simple thermocouple it's not polarity critical

Yes from a technical point of view for a correct loom.
