Tailgate camera not working

Featured Replies

Hi. Just joined forum.

Had the karoq sportline into dealership today to figure out why tailgate camera ain't working. No DAB radio stations either. From 9am until collection at 5.30pm. Car had 3 big software updates but still not solved issue with camera so parkpilot says its inoperable too. Still no DAB either. Can only get back into dealership on 16th August due to their work load, holidays etc. Has anyone else had this issue with tailgate camera and how did they resolve it. Car out of warranty at end of the month so need it resolving before this. Me personally if I was the mechanic I would've plugged new camera in to rule out dodgy camera before getting updates on the SD card etc.

Might be wrong, but sounds like the wiring loom that feeds the DAB aerial and camera has broke.

Where it feeds from main body via the rubber grommet to the boot.

Hope that gets sorted under warranty.

It is extremely unlikely that a mechanic would have access to a new camera. Parts are rarely kept in stock, apart from routine service items, and have to be ordered in. Also, the repairs don't need to be fixed before the warranty expires, the fault just has to be notified by then.

As long as you have notified all the faults then they can be fixed after warranty expiry date.

However I would ensure the list is booked in for repair (booking made, even if workshop date is later) before expiry, otherwise not going to be able to confirm fault existed at date of expiry.
