What's the right fuel filter...

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I was convinced I had the right part number to change the fuel filter in my 2018 Superb (engine code  DFGA) until I queried it with a dealer....

5q0127177 (blue filter) was were my money was but apparently it's actually the 5Q0127177D.

Has anyone changed one who can validate this information is correct or not?

2.0 fuel filter for DFGA between 06.02.17 - 11.03.19 is 5Q0127177B - this part number has since been superseded to 5Q0127177D which is the same as for 11.03.19 onwards.

5Q0127177 is for pre 06.02.17 vehicles with the 1.6 or 2.0 engine.

So yes, dealer is correct and ending in either B or D is correct (mainly D)

Ah!!! I’ve just had delivery of a Mahle KX492 fuel filter which the shop assured me was the correct fuel filter for my 2016 2.0 Octavia Scout, which I also gave the registration number for.

It arrived and looks different from the cars previously fitted fuel filters.

I like Mahle/Knecht filters but I’m a tad ****ed off at this supplier now!!!!
